The philosophy of our campaign is based upon the core belief that if you can be the best in the world than you can be the best in United States, and vice versa. Through international training and racing, we hope to tune our skills so that we can best perform at the Olympics.
The first step in qualifying the United States for the Paris 2024 Olympics is earning a Nation Berth. For the US to receive the delegation from the International Olympic Committee, the US must perform in the top 40 countries in the world. The opportunities to qualify for these delegations are the 2023 and 2024 ILCA 7 World Championships. The first 16 spots will be set by the 2023 World Championships and the next 16 will be selected at the 2024 World Championships. There will be a final chance to qualify at the "Last Chance Regatta" in Marseille, France in the end of the spring of 2024.
The United States Olympic Selection process is simple and straightforward. The domestic trials in February 2024 in Miami will crown the champion of the regatta as the next representative for the US in the Paris 2024 Olympics. This is a return to the system used previously by the US Sailing Association.
